BECOMING BOUGAINVILLEA

I’d like to live there!

I shall become bougainvillea.

Wild and wickedly prickly,

Scrambling skywards,

A beautiful, hot pink muddle of wonder,

Giddy and desirable,

Selective on location,

With a strong preference for a seaview.

I shall thrive in sunshine,

Bloom for the breeze,

And wow in the golden hour.
