ROLL CALL: A cheerful inventory of everything we were taught we should hide

Good morning,

This cheeky poem was inspired by the lovely people around me at the Thalassotherapy clinic here in Benicassim. I have a very busy day today, starting with a blood test, then physiotherapy. After that I'll have breakfast, followed by a wallow in the seawater pool with my fellow-wallowers. Then...oops, I don't remember! Probably something healthy and watery and meditative. I got so meditative yesterday that I actually forgot to go to my mud-algae wrap therapy, but they'll find me another slot. I thought I was done for the day, and went to lie in the sun, and even had a swim in the outdoor pool! Pretty chilly, but sooo delightful.

Over lunch, I gave a copy of Illicit Croissants At Dawn (I'd brought one with me; an author must always travel at least one copy of one's creations!) to a friendly American man who was absolutely thrilled.

Later, I did some painting on my terrace. Utter rubbish, but meditative, and I enjoyed myself, and it felt especially delightful to have the sun on my body.

It's another beautiful day, the waves look friendly and forgiving, which is a miracle when you think of all the terrible things we keep doing to the planet. I love listening to them roll in and out.

I'm feeling calm and relaxed and more trusting of my body.

Have a lovely day,

With love and gratitude,

Francesca xx

ROLL CALL

A cheerful inventory of everything we were taught we should hide

Thigh rolls,

Knee rolls,

My rolls,

Theirs!

Bum rolls,

Arm rolls,

Tum rolls,

Shared!

Happy rolls,

Saggy rolls,

Rude rolls

Bared!

Ankle rolls,

Chin rolls,

Boob rolls,

Yeah!

Not my best look, but one must partake when one takes the waters!
